12.0.1 White Pizza

Want a pizza and don’t have any tomato sauce? Here’s a way you can still have a tasty pizza. It comes from an old cook book - 365 Easy Italian Recipes by Rick Marzullo O’Connell.

Ingredients

1 recipe pizza dough
~1 tbsp dried basil, oregano, italian seasoning, or some combination
6 garlic cloves, sliced or chopped
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
3 Tbsp olive oil
shredded cheese (mozzarella, parmesan, fontina or a combination) to taste

  1. Spread the dough into a circle and fry it per these instructions.
  2. Combine the seasoning, garlic and olive oil in a small bowl.
  3. Spread the mixture on the prepared crust.
  4. Top with cheese.
  5. Broil on high for approximately 6 minutes, until crust is nicely browned.

12.0.1.1 Notes

Additional ingredients can be added under the cheese, such as diced onions or chopped prosciutto.
