Chapter 2 Roles and Responsibilities

2.1 Coordinator (Eagle I-O Consultants)

  1. Define the goals and objectives for the mentoring program that e directly to the organization’s leadership

  2. Ensure the corporate mentoring program is created and sustained.
    • This will be done through succession planning within the group
  3. Review and make thorough and consistent evaluations of the mentees’ progress
    • Attempted monthly meetings with mentees
    • Text check ups for mentees

2.2 Mentor

With a mind toward building a successful mentoring relationship, mentors are expected to:

  • Attend training sessions
  • Schedule a minimum of three face-to-face sessions with the mentee(s) during the semester(s) that should last for 30-minutes
  • Maintain contact with the mentee(s) via electronic means throughout the semester(s)
  • Celebrate mentee success
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on each session via web form.
  • Maintain contact with the coordinator via email.
  • Encourage mentees to take advantage of campus service

2.3 Leadership

  • Educate key leaders and faculty on the benefits of the program and professional value to the students
  • Post in student newspapers, websites, social media pages, and student organization participants
